Care of your posture
After the age of forty, rounded or hunched shoulders tend to make you look older. Standing with your weight on one leg, hunching over your desk at work and stooping are bad habits. To keep your spine ‘fluid’, walk a couple of kilometers daily or swim regularly. Do not wear high heels or shoes with pointed toes. Stretch every morning lying on your back. Pull up one knee to your chest and gently ’spring’ the leg. Repeat three to four times on each leg. Try not to put on weight, carrying a lot of fat on your tummy or bottom makes you arch the lower back. Keep your back straight always, straightening your spine without making your chin out.
Buttocks are signs of aging. Unfortunately, slack, dimpled bottoms are the fate of many of us as we get older. The reasons bottoms sag are : lack of muscle tone as this degenerates with time, lack of support and elasticity in the skin. Regular massage with anti-cellulite oils can help break down the fatty deposits on the buttocks underneath the skin. Do exercises specifically for the buttocks.
Stretch marks are the signs of aging, and are usually caused by scar tissue just below the skin’s surface, as a result of stretch and strain to the skin. Such stretch marks are associated with pregnancy, weight gain or puberty and once occurred, are difficult to eradicate. Retinoic acid helps get rid of stretch marks, with the consultation of your doctor. Use of Vitamin E regenerates damaged skin tissues.
