Men are generally more reluctant than women to spend money on quality grooming products. This is probably best evidenced by the lotions and potions that women have purchased over the last few hundred years. Some may argue that there is nothing in these treatments, but he is a foolish person to take that view. There must be something more that men can do regularly to set a better example in the grooming stakes.

Here we will concentrate on finger nail care.

Clean finger nails are essential for the modern man. If you work in an occupation that regularly gets the nails dirty, start a process, if you have not already of scrubbing the nails clean every day. Some men care for their nails during their shower time – a reasonable option if there is not a water shortage, but a better way of cleaning the nails is to clean them immediately before or after the shower. Use a fingernail brush – they are available from health, chemist and pharmacy shops.

The trimming and care of finger nails is next. Weekly trimming of nails with a nail clipper or scissors is usually sufficient. The nails should never be more than one eight of an inch (or 3 mm) in length. Trim the tips of the nails and part of the sides, but not as far as the tips. File the edges of the nail with an emery board or file until they are at a comfortable length. Cuticles are the outermost layer of skin that protrudes above the nail surface and when the nail grows the cuticles dry out and become ragged. They should not be removed, but rather pushed back, using a few drops of a good cuticle oil and a cotton bud to do the pushing towards the uppermost finger joint. The care for the cuticles would be done whenever necessary – it is different for each man. This process may save some pain at a later time.

If the cuticle stuff is too much, at least do the trimming and filing! It’s a start but remember do not bight your nails. These treatments can be obtained form any respectable men’s manicure provider, but it can be done much cheaper by yourself. All you need is a basic manicure set and the cuticle oil. Your partner will be grateful for the care you show for your nails!

Manicure sets are available form health, chemist and pharmacy stores usually, and online. The options online are endless, but make sure that you conduct your business with a reputable seller.

People can take regular care of their nails with simple steps. They can sport healthy nails that are a pride. Nail care involves a lot of effort, to maintain fine looking nails. It is necessary to keep the nails well moisturized and hydrated. The habitual use of cuticle oil and nail strengthening creams can help in stimulating nail growth. Household equipment and solvents can often damage the nails. It is always advisable to wear gloves, while performing daily chores around the house and while working in the garden. Too much moisture can result in dry nails and chipping.

It is very important to remove old nail polish at least once a week. There are 2 main types of nail polish removers to choose from. Acetone removers take off the polish very quickly, but dry the cuticles. Non-acetone removers take longer to remove polish, but dry the nails and cuticles. If people have artificial nails, it is advisable to use only non-acetone removers. It is also very essential to file the nails in one direction only. The nails weaken if a person uses the file back and forth. It helps to soak the hands in soapy water to soften cuticles and clean the nails.

Dry and brittle nails can be the result of a deficiency of Vitamin A and calcium. White spots may also develop on the nails if there is a deficiency of zinc. Foods that are rich in sulfur and silicon, such as broccoli and fish are good for nails. It is also advisable to eat foods rich in biotin, such as brewer’s yeast, whole grain and soy. It is necessary to drink plenty of water. People with delicate nails should have supplements of zinc and vitamin B. Online sites are available that give detailed information on nail care.

It is well known that inadequate hand washing can lead to the spread of germs. However, as cleaning professionals it is sometimes overlooked how important this is in our industry. Even if your cleaning staff is wearing gloves, it is still important that they spend the extra time necessary to make sure chemicals and germs are thoroughly washed off their hands.

Wash hands thoroughly after using chemicals, cleaning up spills, or emptying trash – even if gloves were worn. At least 20 seconds are needed for the washing to be effective. Follow these steps to get hands thoroughly clean:

1. Wet hands with warm running water prior to reaching for soap, either in bar or liquid form.

2. Add soap and rub hands together to make a lather. This should be done away from running water, so the lather is not washed away.

3. Wash the front and back of hands, between fingers and under nails. Continue rubbing the hands for an additional 15 seconds.

4. Rinse hands well under warm running water.

5. Dry hands thoroughly with either clean towels or an air dryer.

If soap and water are not available, it is a good idea to keep alcohol based hand sanitizers, gels or antibacterial wipes around as an alternative.

It is especially important in health care environments that employees take the extra time needed to be sure they have removed any contaminants they may have come in contact with. Problem areas in health care environments include: door handles, patient bed rails, patient and public telephones, restrooms, treatment areas and furniture.

Surveys show that proper training is beneficial in getting employees to pay attention to their hand washing habits. When training your employees make sure to include this vital information about keeping their hands clean.

“Hand washing today is about more than just cleanliness. People want to prevent the spread of germs,” points out Hadrian Miguel, licensed esthetician at DHC USA’s headquarters in San Francisco, California. “DHC Hand Soap meets this challenge and then some. Its instant lather washes away dirt and reduces bacteria to sanitize hands. And thanks to conditioning collagen, sorbitol, and glycerin, it won’t strip or dry out skin.”

Let’s talk soap.

1.Why not just stick with store-bought body wash?
Many people like using body washes for the moisturizing properties and special fragrances that they offer, but handcrafted soaps (both liquid and solid bars) offer the same options plus more. It’s pure luxury when you can bathe with a creamy, thick, beautifully scented lather from a soap that’s been handcrafted especially for (or by) you.

Also, many people today are concerned about the ingredients. If you make them, you can choose what goes into the formulations, including the addition of beneficial botanicals, exotic oils and butters.

What is a common mistake with soap making?
When making either soap or candles, safety must come first. You need to know your ingredients, how they will interact with each other and with you. We need to learn all we can about our ingredients and the procedures before starting our first project.

2. What are the Latest Trends?
Right now the focus is on going back to basics. Go green. Go as natural as you can. Sure we like to use color and fragrances, but many are now using as many natural ingredients as possible.

3. How to Use Liquid Hand Soap Most Economically
Most liquid hand soap manufacturers are counting on the fact that you will use them in the same way that you would use a bar of soap – that you will wet your hands first thing and then squirt on the soap. This usually results in a large portion of the soap going down the drain without effect. Here is a better way.

First Step: Turn on the tap, but don’t wet your hands.
Second: Squirt the soap onto your dry hands and rub your hands together, rather like you were using hand creme. Focus on the finger tips to get rid of dirt underneath it.

Finally, when the soap is evenly distributed over your entire hand, put your hands under the water and wash up.

You will find that this method both cleans your hands better, plus saves on the cost of soap. Place a rubber O ring halfway down the pump mechinism (below the spout, above the screw cap). The pumps are designed to deliver excess soap, the O ring will make the pump stop sooner, but you still have a sufficient quantity for proper cleaning.

4. One of the best soap products – Organic Foaming Hand Soap
Organic Foaming Hand Soap is ideal for washing hands but can also be used to clean dishes in a pinch and in many other applications. It is great for cleaning up after pets leave their mark on carpets and also great on camping trips and on boats. It cleans people and everything else in sight effectively with minimal water use.

The soap is made from renewable vegetable and botanical sources including organic saponified coconut and Castile olive oil, pure essential oils, aloe and rosemary extract. Offered in Lemongrass Zen and Lavender Ecstasy, it has a pleasant scent, a remarkably soft vegetable oil soap feel and is extraordinarily mild and hypoallergenic. It is completely natural and is free of artificial colors, fragrances, preservatives, and animal by-products and is not tested on animals.

“The soap contains only pure essential oils that provide aromatherapy benefits for the mind and kill germs on the skin”, says Vermont Soap founder and President Larry Plesent. As an organic castile liquid soap based product, the organic foaming hand soap is guaranteed to be free of the synthetic ingredients found in mass-marketed foamers,” adds Plesent

5. Contact Lens Hand Soap
Contact lens hand soap is a necessity if you wear contact lenses, when you have get the soap, you should get some idea anout how to properly use the soap.

It is very important that you wash your hands properly with the contact lens hand soap. Serious eye infections can occur when you take your contacts out and put them in if you do not have really clean hands.

The best contact lens hand soap to use is liquid soap. Apply the liquid contact lens hand soap while your hands are dry. Spread the soap on your hands and rub it in well. Be sure to get the contact lens hand soap under your fingernails too. There are all kinds of germs that live under your fingernails and the contact lens hand soap will help kill those germs.

Rinse your hands with running water and do a very thorough job. Dry your hands on clean paper towels or unperfumed, plain tissues. You can use a lint-free towel you have washed yourself but do not share a towel with anyone else. This will negate the effect of the contact lens hand soap.

Most people will agree that washing your hands and keeping them clean is one of the best ways of preventing yourself from getting sick. Properly washing your hands can protect you from such things as the cold, flu, diarrhea, hepatitis A, and even SARS. Unfortunately, many people don’t know how to wash their hands properly. We’ve all seen that co-worker or friend turn on the faucet, put their hands under the water for a couple of seconds to wet them and quickly close the faucet with their hands. This is not proper hand washing, and in fact, there are studies that show that if you don’t wash your hands properly, it can be just as bad or even worse than not washing your hands at all.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) instructs people to wash their hands in the following way:
- Wet your hands and apply liquid, bar, or powder soap.
- Rub hands together vigorously to make a lather and scrub all surfaces.
- Continue for 20 seconds! It takes that long for the soap and scrubbing action to dislodge and remove stubborn germs. Need a timer? Imagine singing “Happy Birthday” all the way through twice!
- Rinse hands well under running water.
- Dry your hands using a paper towel or air dryer.
- If possible, use your paper towel to turn off the faucet.

The CDC also says that “if soap and water are not available, use an alcohol based wipe or hand gel!” A common myth is that the only way to get all the germs out of your hands is to use an antibacterial soap. Actually, if you follow what the CDC recommends above, antibacterial soap isn’t necessary. Antibacterial soaps actually do kill bacteria, but these soaps may contribute to the growing problem of antibiotic resistance.

Remember to wash your hands:
- Before you eat or drink
- Before and after touching food
- Before and after caring for or touching a sick person
- After going to the bathroom
- After contact with bodily fluids or blood
- After changing a diaper
- After touching an animal, especially a reptile since many carry bacteria on their skins.
- After using public transportation
- After anytime touching anything that looks dirty.

Most people forget about their feet when caring for their body. They figure that if they cannot see their feet that nothing can be wrong. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Taking care of your feet is one of the most important things that you can do as far as caring for your body is concerned. If you neglect your feet you may end up running into some problems down the line.

The first thing to remember is that you should exercise good foot care everyday of the week. When you are in the shower be sure to thoroughly wash your feet, including in between your toes. This can be done with simple soap and water, and will not take more than a minute or so. Why pass up washing your feet in the shower if it is only going to take a minute?

One of the most common problems that you will run into if you neglect to care for your feet is athlete’s foot. This is a fungus that can affect the entire foot, as well as the toe nails. Even though the skin between the toes is most commonly affected, athlete’s foot can spread to other parts of the foot as well.

In many cases athlete’s foot will start out between the toes, and then spread to the toe nails. This in turn makes the toe nails turn yellow and become thick. And if the fungus reaches your toe nails your problem will become more serious. It can be quite difficult and time consuming to get rid of fungus of the toe nails.

The most common way of contracting athlete’s foot from somebody else is by walking on moist or wet floors. This type of fungus thrives in a moist environment, and if the floor is not kept clean it can spread rapidly from one person to the next. In addition, athlete’s foot is common among people that have moist feet. This can happen during strenuous exercise, hence the name athlete’s foot. Sharing personal items such as shoes, socks, and towels can also spread the fungus that causes athlete’s foot.

It should also be noted that athlete’s foot can be spread to other parts of the body. This is done by scratching the infected area, and then touching other body parts such as the groin and underarm.

If you are suffering from athlete’s foot, or fungus of the toe nails, there are treatment options available. They include both over the counter topical solutions, as well as oral medications that can be prescribed by a doctor. If you are having a difficult time controlling the problem on your own, your best option is to let a doctor take a look at the fungus.

With proper care you should be able to avoid foot fungus problems such as athlete’s foot. Do not take these conditions lightly; they can be both difficult to get rid of and bothersome.

Feet are the lowest part of body. They have hard functions such as carry the body weight and move our bodies to everywhere we want. Many problems may occur with foot such as corns, callousness, blister, heel pain, tinea, warts, odor or cracked heel. This article will help you to know how to take care yours feet and how to relief some feet problems.

Weekly care for feet
1. Soak your feet in warm water about 10-15 minutes at least once a week. It is helpful for blood circulation of feet, feet relaxation and decrease tenderness after long walking or running.
2. Cut the nails to suitable length, should be not too short because you may have a problem of ingrow toe.
3. For protection callousness (dead cell under the foot), you have to fine your feet especially, heel gently once a week.
4. Scrub your feet with foot products about 10-15 minutes. And mask or massage around with foot moisturizer.
5. Spray your feet with deo foot spray for protection the bad odour.

In the complete human body feet are the mist strained and worked out part, but inspite of this are the most neglected one also. Lack of proper care for feet result in many problems like corns and bunions, cracks, infections and ingrown nails. Massaging the feet each night with oil is relaxing and keeps them soft and supple. In winter warm oil can be used with sesame or mustard oil. In summer coconut oil provides a cooling effect.

Foot ulcers and amputations are a major cause of morbidity, disability, as well as emotional and physical costs for people with diabetes. Early recognition and management of independent risk factors for ulcers and amputations can prevent or delay the onset of adverse outcomes. This position statement provides recommendations for people who currently have no foot ulcers.

In order to maintain healthy feet you must make an effort and care for your feet. This can prevent many foot conditions that affect the feet. The sooner you start caring for your feet the sooner they will care for you. It is essential your foot health becomes a daily routine. Just as healthy teeth, hair and skin are important, so are healthy feet. Below is Dr Foot’s 20 foot care tips. If you suffer from diabetes, please consult a State Registered Chiropodist before you follow any instructions.

Tips for Foot Care
Take care of your feet regularly to keep calluses under control. Use a pumice stone or an abrasive foot scrub to remove the dead and rough skin. If this skin is not removed it will become hard and thick and can become cracked and infected making walking difficult.

Check your feet daily for cuts, blisters, bruises or colour changes, swelling and open sores. Report them to your healthcare team without delay. Use a mirror to see the soles of your feet or, if this is difficult, seek help from someone else.

Don’t ignore pain: Painful feet are not normal. Many foot conditions can be cured if you visit a chiropodist as early as possible. Always wash your feet with soap and water. Take care to wash between your toes. Dry your feet carefully, especially between the toes. Use oil or lotion to keep your skin soft.

Trim toe nails with a nail trimmer. Cut them straight across and not too short. Do not cut down the corner as this cam lead to in growing toenails. Patients with diabetes should have their nails cut by a State Registered Chiropodist.

Replace your shoes every 6 months as well-worn shoes lose their ability to support your feet properly. This can lead to feet, leg and back fatigue and problems. If your job requires you to be on your feet all day it is best you change your shoes every 6 months.

Live on my feet ten hours a day. At some point, my heels got so badly cracked, they would catch on the carpet, and no mere moisturizing helped. If you’ve tried everything to mend calloused, painfully cracked heels and nothing worked, look for Callex Ointment.

During the fitting process, make sure there is enough space (3/8″ to 1/2″) for your longest toe at the end of each shoe when you are standing up.

Give your feet a foot bath. Put a cup of marbles in the bath water and roll your feet around on top of them to stimulate the nerve endings. Pick up the marbles with your toes, flex and contract your feet and toes and then let go off the marbles. This will allow the arches and muscles of the feet to stretch.

The feet are one of the most active parts of one’s body. Your feet bear the brunt of your activities throughout the day, from the time you wore those high heeled stilettos for that party or the time when you spent the entire day shopping, no matter how hard your feet hurt! The foot is therefore often neglected as far as foot care is concerned. When was the last time you had that very important pedicure done? This is something that often slips the minds of many. Tired and aching feet are neglected once you get back to the daily grind. Need some quick tips for foot care? Read on for some ways to pamper your feet and have them looking supple and soft in no time.

Tips for Foot Care:
If you have tired and aching feet, the most effective foot care option would be to soak these in a tub of cold water. You can even keep your feet under running water to relieve the ache. Washing your feet regularly, especially when you come from the outdoors, will help to keep them clean and free from infection.

Use sun block on your feet just as you would do for the rest of the body, when you are at the beach. Keep a can of foot spray handy. These can give a cooling effect for the feet. Always ensure that you have enough blood circulation for your feet as well. Follow the points mentioned below for the same: Lie down at a right angle to the wall. You can lie down on the bed as well and rest your feet above your head. Roll your feet over some cans. This will help to improve the blood circulation as well.

Have you checked out your footwear? One main important aspect about foot care is wearing the right kind of footwear. Often, wearing footwear that doesn’t fit right or are too tight can cause a lot of discomfort to the wearer. If you particularly have tired feet after wearing a certain pair of high-heeled footwear, it’s time you switched to a new pair of comfy shoes. If you have dry and itchy feet, use a mild soap to wash your feet. Follow this with a specific moisturizing lotion and massage it gently into your feet. Remember to exfoliate your feet once a week to get rid of dry skin. This will help to keep the skin smooth as well.

Foot care for dry and cracked feet should include the use of a hot and cold-water technique. For this, simply dip your feet in hot water. Follow this by dipping your feet in cold water. Follow this procedure for a period of 20 minutes. This would help to improve the blood circulation.

Open toed footwear or sexy stilettos would always look best on well-maintained feet. Have a homemade pedicure done with the following steps:
Firstly, soak your feet in warm water. Add some salt to the water. Then, with the help of a pumice stone, exfoliate the dead skin by scrubbing gently. Rinse and pat the feet dry. Remove any traces of nail enamel and file you nail gently. Take some quantity of foot cream and massage this gently into the skin. Then, wrap your feet in plastic bags and leave the cover on for at least 15 minutes. Once done, apply 2- coats of nail enamel and let it dry.
